Paraguay ranks among the most competitive tax systems in Latin America

The quality of tax systems continues to be a determining factor for attracting investments and sustainable economic growth in Latin America.

According to the Comprehensive Tax Index of the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom, Paraguay, together with Panama and Costa Rica, leads the regional ranking, standing out for having more efficient, simple and competitive fiscal structures.

In contrast, countries such as Argentina, Venezuela and Colombia face the challenge of reforming their tax systems to generate a more favorable environment for business development. This type of evaluation not only measures collection capacity, but also transparency, regulatory clarity and ease of compliance, factors that position Paraguay as a model of stability and fiscal efficiency in the region.
